Australian Alumni Grants Fund Round 5 now open

Applications for the latest round of the Australian Alumni Grants Fund are now open. Grants of up to VND 325 million are available to Australian alumni on a competitive basis.

The Australian Alumni Grants Fund (AAGF) managed by Aus4Skills provides funding for successful proposals from Vietnamese alumni of Australian education to consolidate their professional knowledge and skills; contribute to organisational change in selected Vietnamese government, private sector, civil organisations and other partners; and strengthen linkages between Australia and Vietnam.

Since 2017, five grant rounds have supported Australian alumni to deliver projects in targeted areas across Vietnam.

Australian alumnus Truong Dinh Hoai (left) studies diseases caused by parasites and bacteria to freshwater fish in North Vietnam and effective treatment methods. Hoai receives funding in AAGF Round 3.

Two AAGF rounds are scheduled for 2023, with the following opening dates: 10 February, Round 5; and (tentative) 10 August, Round 6.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Australia – Vietnam diplomatic relations, grant applications this year in all priority areas/sectors are encouraged to contribute to strengthening linkages between the two countries.

The maximum duration for implementing a grant project is 12 months.

Grant implementation should commence within 2 weeks from the date of submission of the signed Grant Agreement.

Funded by AAGF, this project provided skills and knowledge for ethnic women in Hoa Binh Province and rural areas of Hanoi to start up with their local produce.

Aus4Skills will host a briefing session on the AAGF guidelines for applicants following the announcement of Round 5 and provide support during the call for applications for prospective applicants.

Following the approval of grants, a training workshop will be delivered to successful applicants on financial and communication management and reporting.
