Gender equality through a personal lens

With half the total population being women, we are unable to empower women without men’s involvement. Women’s empowerment benefits both men and women. Men should be examples to others. They are change-makers in the society and we cannot succeed in gender equality without their participation.
Adoption of international standards in vocational education and training (VET)

Currently, VET colleges aim to provide employees to obtain not only practical knowledge and skills for working at domestic enterprises and companies, but also satisfy foreign language requirements and international, regional occupational standards for working at foreign joint ventures and firms. To meet this target, VET schools and colleges should focus on fostering international cooperation and linkages.
University Quality Assurance: International experience and application to Vietnam’s universities

Earlier, on August 14, 2018 a workshop on University Quality Assurance was also held at Tay Bac University. In addition to the workshop, Tay Bac University is conducting a self-evaluation process. Under the ‘Improving Quality of Universities in the Northern Mountainous Region’ component of Aus4Skills, consultants on university accreditation have been invited to support Tay Bac University in this activity in the period from July to November 2018.

The vocational college without a day-off

We visited the Vocational College of Machinery and Irrigation (VCMI) in Dong Nai Province on a Sunday in May 2018 and saw groups of students in blue uniform excitedly entering their classes. The College Rector, Doctor Nguyen Van Chuong and his colleagues had arrived earlier and prepared for a usual working day. “We have more classes on Saturday and Sunday than week-days. Many vocational colleges wish to have such a work schedule!” – said Chuong cheerfully.
