On 12 December 2017, the Australian Government launched its support for the School of Law of the Vietnam National University Hanoi, to improve the quality of the postgraduate program on Human Rights Law until 2020. This support, delivered through Aus4Skills - an Aus4Vietnam investment, aims to assist the School to become a leading institution in human rights education in Vietnam. Fourteen postgraduate scholarships were presented at the event.

Fifty-two Australia Awards Scholarship recipients will soon leave Vietnam to join more than 500 Australia Awards awardees and 20,000 Vietnamese students for a world-class education in Australia. They will undertake postgraduate studies at an Australian university of their choice.

On 25 November 2017, in Hanoi, more than 500 Australian alumni and their family members came together at the Aussie Alumni Reunion to celebrate their achievements and to highlight the White Ribbon Day. Those alumni are part of a dynamic network of nearly 60,000 alumni of Australian education in Vietnam. They represent a wealth of knowledge, expertise and influence and they are making valuable contributions to Vietnam’s development and strengthening linkages between Vietnam and Australia. and Australia.

On 22 September 2017, Australian Ambassador H.E. Mr Craig Chittick announced the Australian Embassy will provide over AUD 488,000 in grants for alumni, through the Alumni Small Grants Fund. The announcement was made during the “Welcome Home Ceremony” for nearly 50 Australia Awards recipients who have recently completed their studies in Australia.
