Today is International Day for Rural Women and to commemorate this day Australia Awards Vietnam is highlighting the work of Australia Awards - Vietnam alumnus, Vu Thi Hien, the founder of the non-government organisation Centre of Research and Development in Upland Areas (CERDA).

On 8 September 2017, in Hanoi Australia has launched the Advancing Women in Leadership component of Aus4Skills - an Aus4Vietnam investment of the Australian Government. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 7 September between Aus4Skills and the Centre for Gender Studies and Women’s Leadership (GeLead) at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, followed by the launch of the Australia Awards Short Course - Women in Leadership Journey. 

With the aim of supporting newly returning Australia Awards alumni who may be experiencing emotional, family or work related issues, Aus4Skills has contracted a professional counselling company who will provide services to alumni who completed their studies and have returned to Vietnam within the past 12 months.

On 29 August 2017, Tay Bac University and the Aus4Skills program, an Aus4Vietnam investment of the Australian Government, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) today, laying the foundation for a series of cooperation activities until 2020 between the two parties to strengthen Tay Bac University’s leadership and management, reform curriculum and teaching methodology, increase academic support for disadvantaged students, and advance women in leadership.
