Safeguarding

Aus4Skills seeks to create an enabling environment where everyone, including women, people with disabilities, the rural disadvantaged, including people from ethnic minority groups, and other socially excluded groups in Vietnam, can participate and benefit equally in all our activities. We recognise that supporting gender equality and challenging the gendered drivers of violence against women and children are important steps towards achieving this mission.

Aus4Skills is strongly committed to creating a safe work environment where we proactively address issues of gender inequality, gender-based discrimination, everyday sexism, sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, violence against women, and child exploitation and abuse. This includes a zero-tolerance approach to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH) and child exploitation and abuse.

All Aus4Skills staff (including advisers and consultants), partners and contractors, as well as participants in Aus4Skills activities (including Australia Awards Scholarships awardees, participants of Australia Awards Short Courses, Alumni Professional Group Co-Convenors and recipients of Australian Alumni Grants Fund) are expected to fully comply with DFAT’s Preventing Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) Policy and DFAT’s Child Protection Policy.

All Aus4Skills staff, partners, contractors, and participants are required to immediately report any concerns, allegations or suspicions of SEAH, child exploitation and abuse, or PSEAH and Child Protection policies non-compliance. Reports can be made by people directly impacted or others who observe or know of occurrences of SEAH and child exploitation and abuse. If in doubt, suspected or alleged incidents should be reported. All reports are taken seriously.
