On October 22, the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a Signing Ceremony of the Subsidiary Arrangement between the Vietnamese Government and the Australian Government on the Vietnam-Australia Human Resource Development Program for the period 2021-2025. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Ms. Robyn Mudie, attended and signed the Agreement.

MOET Vice Minister Nguyen Van Phu and Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie signed the Supplementary Agreement on the Vietnam – Australia Human Resource Development Program from 2021-2025.
At the ceremony, Vice Minister Nguyen Van Phuc thanked the Australian Government for its continued support for Vietnam’s education priorities and sustainable socio-economic growth.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc further emphasised the effective cooperation between the two countries in education and training. He also expressed his wish for Viet Nam and Australia to continue to be strategic partners in education and training, which is essential to our human resource development and economic goals.
At the event, the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Training announced the Vietnam – Australia Human Resource Development Program (Aus4Skills) valued up to $50.1 million from 2021 to 2025.
The program will offer Australia Awards Scholarships for Vietnamese citizens to study at Australian universities in priority fields of study, deliver Australian alumni professional development activities and grants that support Vietnam’s development, and implement higher education capacity building activities for Vietnamese university leaders.
Ms. Robyn Mudie, Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam shared: “Australia’s Aus4Skills program remains highly relevant to supporting Vietnam’s future human resource development priorities, especially as it navigates the challenges presented by COVID-19.”
From 2016 to 2021, more than 105,000 Vietnamese students have benefited from the improvement in teaching, curriculum development and governance, through the Australian Government – supported Aus4Skills Program.
The program had supported 240 Vietnamese citizens to receive full scholarships to study at Australian universities; provided grants worth more than AUD 1 million for 95 development projects initiated and operated by Australian alumni in Vietnam; organised 162 professional development seminars attended by more than 7,500 Australian alumni in Vietnam; improved the teaching skills of 339 lecturers at Vietnamese universities and vocational education institutions.
The program also connected logistics enterprises with vocational education institutions to improve the quality of training and skills for the logistics workforce; renewed 147 curricula of universities and vocational education institutions; improved the quality of training on gender equality for more than 59,000 Vietnamese government officials.
