Education & Times Newspaper – The Women in Development Club which is under Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) organized its inaugural session with an impressive mission – Unite and Cooperate for Shared Development.
“The club determined its four main tasks are: Consulting the University leaders in supporting policies for women staff and students in science research and education for personal improvement; Organizing talks and skills development training to raise awareness about personal healthcare, love, marriage, and family; Connecting female lecturers and students to workshops/forums/programs held by Central Women’s Union, Provincial Women’s Union, domestic and foreign organizations, and introducing female intellectuals, successful business women to promote products made by the university’s female lecturers and students; Holding culture, art, sport, and charity activities to involve disadvantaged, ethnic minority communities. ” – said Dr Phan Thi Thu Hang, Vice Director of the Club.

Currently, key members of the Women in Development Club are TUAF’s lecturers and staff who participated in an Australia Awards Short Course – Women in Leadership Journey. The Management Board comprises 12 members with 4 units: Department for professional knowledge, Department for entrepreneurship, Department for personal development; and Department of membership.

“Ever since our university leaders and staff had the opportunity to participate in short training courses provided by the Aus4Skills, many activities have substantially changed, the inauguration of this club is one of these positive innovations” – said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dien, Rector of TUAF at the inaugural session.
Right after the inaugural session, the Women in Development Club signed cooperation agreements with other organizations.
